About the job

For a leading company in Ghent, we are looking for an Account Manager. In this position, you will be responsible for building, maintaining and expanding customer relationships. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and offer the best solutions. As an Account Manager, you will contribute to the commercial growth of the company through sales and customer-focused strategies.


Your responsibilities

  • Attracting new customers: Actively prospect and acquire new customers by developing sales strategies and building a network.
  • Relationship management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular follow-up and offering customised solutions.
  • Achieve commercial objectives: achieving sales targets by preparing offers, negotiating contracts and closing deals.
  • Market analysis: Gain insight into market and customer needs and wants, and translate them into commercial opportunities.
  • Advice and support: advising customers on products and services and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams, such as marketing, product development and customer service, to fulfil customer needs and achieve strategic goals.
  • Reporting: Maintaining customer data and preparing periodic reports for management on sales results and market trends.

Who are you?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or another commercial field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as an Account Manager, Sales Manager or in a similar commercial role.
  • Competences:
    • Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
    • Able to build and maintain relationships with customers.
    • Independent worker with a proactive and results-oriented attitude.
    • Experience with CRM systems and preparing sales reports.
  • Language: fluent in Dutch, good knowledge of English; knowledge of French is a plus.
