About the job

We are looking for a Bookkeeper for a growing company in Aalst. In this position, you will be responsible for general bookkeeping and ensure that financial records are processed correctly, timely and completely. You have an eye for detail and ensure that all accounting records are in order. As a Bookkeeper, you will contribute to maintaining the company’s financial stability and work closely with other departments to ensure an efficient financial process.


Your responsibilities

  • Accounting: Entering invoices, bank transactions and other financial documents into the accounting system.
  • Preparation of VAT returns: Correct and timely filing of VAT returns in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Reconciliation: Reconciling general ledger accounts, banks and other relevant general ledger accounts.
  • Financial reporting: Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the management team.
  • Processing wages and allowances: Assist in processing payroll and calculating employee benefits.
  • Audit support: preparing documents and information to support internal and external audits.
  • Ad-hoc administrative tasks: You will perform various administrative tasks to support the accounting department and ensure smooth and correct handling of daily processes.

Who are you?

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accountancy-Tax, Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar position.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Detailed and accurate: You work accurately and have an eye for detail, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Independent: You can work independently, but you also have a team-oriented work mentality.
  • Language skills: Fluent in Dutch, knowledge of English or French is a plus.
