About the job
For a dynamic company in Lokeren, we are seeking a Bookkeeper who will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks. You play a significant role in managing the financial accounts, preparing reports and supporting management in financial issues. As a Bookkeeper, you are crucial to efficient and accurate accounting.
Your responsibilities
- Accounting: accurately entering purchase and sales invoices, banks and cash flows.
- VAT returns: Preparing periodic VAT returns and ensuring timely submission.
- Reporting: Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual closures and interim financial reports.
- Financial accounting: Maintaining financial records, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Year-end closing: Preparing the year-end closing in cooperation with the external auditors.
- Debtor and creditor management: monitoring payments, managing outstanding receivables and supporting collections.
- Ad-hoc tasks: Supporting the finance department on various administrative and accounting issues.

Who are you?
- Education: You have a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy-Taxation, Business Economics, or equivalent.
- Experience: You have at least 2 years’ experience in an accounting position, preferably as a Bookkeeper.
- Knowledge: You have a good knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Exact or SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Precision: You work accurately and have an eye for detail.
- Communicative: You have good communication skills and can communicate in both Dutch and English.
- Independent: You are able to work independently, but also work well in a team.
