About the job

For a growing company in Mechelen, we are looking for an analytical and results-oriented Credit Controller. In this position, you play a crucial role in managing outstanding invoices and minimising risks. You combine your financial insight with excellent communication skills to maintain customer relations and bring in payments on time.

Your responsibilities

• Accounts receivable management: Follow up on outstanding payments and contact customers to make payment arrangements.
• Creditworthiness: Analyse credit limits and assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
• Reporting: Preparation of weekly and monthly reports on outstanding debtors and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
• Process optimisation: Identify and implement improvements in the credit management process.
• Collaboration: Working closely with the sales and finance team to prevent payment problems and strengthen customer relationships.
• Disputes resolution: Assist in resolving disputes around invoices.

Who are you?

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position, such as Credit Controller or AR Accountant.
• Technical knowledge:
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Navision or Oracle) is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, reporting).
• Competences:
  • Communicatively strong and customer-oriented.
  • Problem-solving and results-oriented.
  • Analytical ability and accurate work.
• Language skills: Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is an asset.
