About the job

For a leading company in Dendermonde, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the financial health of the organisation by managing budgets, analysing financial reports and supporting strategic decisions. You will work closely with the management team and ensure a transparent financial structure.

Your responsibilities

• Financial reporting: Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and analysis of financial data.
• Budget management: Coordinating the budgeting process and monitoring budgets versus realisations.
• Forecasting: developing financial forecasts and scenario analyses to identify risks and opportunities.
• Cost analysis: identifying cost structures and optimising cost efficiency within the organisation.
• Internal control: Develop and monitor internal financial procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and guidelines.
• Advising management: Support strategic decisions by providing financial advice and insights.
• Supervise audits: Coordinate internal and external audits and act as liaison for auditors.
• Project management: Financial evaluation and monitoring of investment and improvement projects.

Who are you?

• Education: Master’s degree in a financial or economic field (e.g. Commercial Sciences, Accounting & Taxation, or Business Economics).
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position, such as Financial Analyst or Controller.
• Technical knowledge:
  • Thorough knowledge of financial models and reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Competences:
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
• Language skills: Fluent in Dutch, good knowledge of English; knowledge of French is a plus.
