About the job

We are looking for a Financial Controller for a growing company in Lokeren. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company’s financial processes, preparing financial reports and analysing performance. You are the financial conscience of the organisation and provide support to the management team in strategic decision-making. You will ensure the optimisation of internal control mechanisms and contribute to the overall financial health of the company.


Your responsibilities

  • Financial reporting: Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly and annual reports and financial analyses to support management.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: guiding and coordinating annual budgeting and forecasting for future financial performance.
  • Cost management: analysing the cost structure and advising management on cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Internal controls: Implementing and monitoring internal control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Cash flow management: ensuring healthy cash flow and liquidity planning, including debtor and creditor management.
  • Compliance and tax reporting: Compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including VAT and tax returns, and assisting with audits.
  • Strategic analyses: Conducting in-depth analyses and providing recommendations that support management team decision-making.

Who are you?

  • Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accountancy-Tax, Business Economics or a similar field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as Financial Controller or in a similar role, preferably in a medium to large company.
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, tax laws and experience with ERP systems.
  • Analytical: You have strong analytical skills and can translate complex financial data into understandable and actionable insights for management.
  • Communicative: Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and oral.
  • Independent: You work proactively, take responsibility and know how to prioritise in a dynamic working environment.
