About the job

For a leading organisation in Beveren, we are looking for an accurate and experienced GL Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports and ensuring correct accounting processing. You play an important role in the monthly and annual closing and support management with reliable financial data.

Your responsibilities

• General ledger management: Managing and controlling general ledger accounts.
• Closings: Taking care of monthly and annual closures.
• Reports: Preparation of financial reports and balance sheets.
• VAT returns: Correctly process and file tax returns (VAT, corporate income tax).
• Audit preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing the necessary documents and information.
• Process optimisation: Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes.
• Collaboration: Working closely with other finance teams and departments to ensure financial accuracy.

Who are you?

• Education: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance or a similar field.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a GL Accountant.
• Technical knowledge:
  • Good knowledge of accounting software (e.g. SAP, Exact or WinBooks).
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and BE GAAP is a plus.
• Competences:
  • Analytical and precise.
  • Strong organisational skills and able to work independently.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Language skills: Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of English or French is an asset.
