About the role
For a respected organization in Dendermonde, we are seeking a GL Accountant. In this position, you will be responsible for the precise management of financial data and the creation of reliable reports. You play a crucial part in the monthly and annual closures and ensure the efficient operation of general accounting.
Your duties
- Financial tasks: Managing general ledger accounts and conducting periodic reconciliations.
- Finalizations: Prepare and execute monthly, quarterly, and yearly closures.
- Analysis: Compilation of financial reports and managerial insights.
- VAT submissions: Preparing and submitting VAT returns and other legal obligations.
- Quality control: Ensuring accurate compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
- Audit assistance: Preparing and overseeing internal and external audits.
- Streamlining processes: Actively contributing to the improvement of financial processes and systems.
- Occasional assignments: Support the finance team on various projects and analyses.

Who you are
- Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or relevant financial field.
- Work experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity as a GL Accountant.
- Technical expertise:
- Strong understanding of Belgian accounting regulations (BE GAAP).
- Experience with ERP systems (especially SAP or Navision).
- Excellent Excel proficiency.
- Skills:
- Precise analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proactive and solution-oriented.
- Team-oriented with efficient communication skills.
- Linguistic abilities: Proficient in Dutch, skilled in English; familiarity with French is advantageous.
