For a growing organisation in Dendermonde, we are looking for an HR Officer / HR Generalist. In this versatile position, you will be responsible for supporting the entire HR policy and daily HR processes. You will work closely with the HR team and other departments to implement HR strategies and operational tasks that contribute to organisational development.
What will you do as an HR Officer / HR Generalist?
As HR Officer / HR Generalist, you are the central point of contact for employees and management on HR matters. You combine strategic thinking with operational tasks and play a crucial role in the organisation’s growth and development.
Your duties:
- Recruitment and selection: Managing the entire recruitment process for vacancies, including drafting job advertisements, screening CVs, conducting interviews and guiding candidates through the selection process.
- Onboarding: organising the onboarding process for new employees and ensuring that they can settle in and integrate into the organisation quickly.
- HR administration: Managing personnel files, contracts, leave requests, sick leave and other administrative tasks related to employees.
- Absence and absence management: Managing absence policies, monitoring absence and advising employees and managers on absence and reintegration processes.
- Performance Management: Supporting managers in conducting performance and assessment interviews, drawing up development plans and monitoring employee performance.
- HR policies: Contributing to the development and implementation of HR policies, such as remuneration structures, corporate values, and other HR initiatives.
- Training and development: Managing training and development programmes and facilitating internal and external training for employees.
- Labour relations: Maintaining good relations with employees and providing HR advice and support on questions related to working conditions, policies, and procedures.
- HR projects: Participating in and implementing HR projects aimed at organisational development, employee engagement, and culture improvement.

Who are we looking for?
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR, Psychology, Business Administration or another relevant field.
- 2-5 years’ experience in an HR function, preferably as an HR Officer or HR Generalist.
- Good knowledge of Belgian labour laws and HR processes.
- Experience in recruitment and selection, absence management and HR administration.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proactive attitude and able to work both strategically and operationally.
- Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of English and/or French is a plus.
