About the job
For a leading company in Aalst, we are looking for a Payroll Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire payroll administration of the company. You will ensure the timely and correct processing of wages, compliance with legal regulations and follow up salary-related questions from employees. As Payroll Accountant, you will work closely with the HR team and be an important link in the smooth running of the organisation.
Your responsibilities
- Payroll processing: Managing monthly payroll and ensuring correct and timely payment of salaries.
- Taxes and social security contributions: Calculate social security contributions and taxes, and ensure timely payments to relevant authorities.
- Wage reports: Preparation of payroll statements and reports for both internal and external purposes.
- Declarations: Preparing payroll tax returns, such as annual tax returns and preparing the necessary documents for social insurance institutions.
- HR and administrative support: answering employee queries on salary, holiday pay, and other allowances.
- Collective agreement and legislation: Ensure compliance with legislation relating to payroll processing and company agreements (collective agreements).
- Sickness and leave management: keeping track of sick leave, holiday leave and other leave arrangements.

Who are you?
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, HR or similar.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll administration or as a Payroll Accountant.
- Technical knowledge:
- Experience with payroll software and ERP systems (such as SD Worx, ADP, or other HR software).
- Extensive knowledge of social legislation, tax regulations and payroll processing.
- Good command of MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
- Competences:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Accurate, discreet and hands-on attitude.
- Good at communication, with the ability to provide employees with the right advice.
- Language skills: Fluent in Dutch, English is a plus.
