About the job

For a growing company in Sint-Niklaas, we are looking for a driven Payroll Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and controlling the payroll administration and ensure that all salary payments are made correctly and on time. You will work closely with the HR team and the finance department and play a key role in the financial management of staff.

Your responsibilities

• Payroll administration: Process payroll payments and ensure correct monthly closure.
• Taxes and tax returns: Prepare payroll tax returns and ensure tax compliance.
• Social security contributions: Calculate social security contributions and other relevant payments.
• Monitoring and reporting: Perform checks on payroll data and ensure timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• HR and financial cooperation: Support HR in processing new employees, mutations and contract changes.
• Ad-hoc analyses: Prepare payroll reports and contribute to monthly and annual closures.
• Laws and regulations: staying up to date with the latest changes in wage and labour legislation.

Who are you?

• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accountancy, Business Economics, HR, or similar field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll or accounting role, preferably in a similar role.
• Competences:
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll and tax legislation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with accounting software and MS Office (Excel).
  • Good at communication and able to work independently and accurately.
• Language: fluent in Dutch, knowledge of English is a plus.
